Dewberries

How to Select Dewberries

Ripe dewberries are glossy black, are firm to the touch, and contain small amounts of red tint on the lobes.

How to Store Dewberries

Dewberries can be stored in the refrigerator to extend their life.  They should not be washed until you are ready to consume them as the additional moisture will speed the deterioration rate.

How to Freeze Dewberries

Wash dewberries carefully with cool water then place them in a single layer on a baking sheet in the freezer.  When the berries are completely frozen transfer them to an airtight container or a freezer bag and store in the freezer.

Dewberries can also be frozen in a syrup or sugar pack.
